Flora & Fauna.

For obvious reasons, the area shows a desolate landscape. However, bordering its Peripheral Protective Area are Las Cañadas del Teide National Park and the Forest Crown Natural Park, which having 46 612.9 hectares in area, has become the largest protected wildlife area in the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands and is the habitat for various wildlife species of the region.
